The Republic of Kurpie is a spring festival of music, singing and dancing from Kurpie region. We invite you to participate fully in an extraordinary event, which starts with singing workshops led by eminent singer – Adam Strug and dance workshops with Piotr Zgorzelski, then ends with a lively intergenerational dance party. After the workshops there will be a concert (Janusz Prusinowski Kompania, Adam Strug and the world famous singer Apolonia Nowak), then a dance party with Kompania and outstanding bands from Kurpie region: Kapela Janka Kani and Kapela Ryszarda Maniurskiego plus other musicians. Do not miss this opportunity to dance oberek, polka, kozak and the fastest traditional dance in Poland, perversely called “powolniak” (slowish dance).

The Republic of Kurpie is a continuation of last year’s Republic of Kurpie event, which took place on February 14th, 2015 at the State Ethnographic Museum in Warsaw. In the long term – it is an offspring of the Republic of Kolberg – a project promoting Polish music in connection with the year of Oskar Kolberg (2014).
